Bad Santa has a hard "R" rating. Under 17 not admitted without a guardian. The movie is WAY not for kids, accompanied or not.That you saw many under 17's in the theater is the fault of the theater, not the movie.
This is America, I reserve the right to be able to see grotesque adult comedies that make fun of graphic sexual content and drug abuse. Just as much as you reserve the right to not see it, which is what you shoulda done.
This film and others like it are not the cause of the decline of today's youth anymore than video games and Marilyn Manson are. The media only reflects it. The cause is the lack of parenting. Like you say, my dad woulda kicked my ass for acting up like that, but most dads today wanna be a pal and not a father.
WRT the Child Abuse of the child actor: You have no idea what the comprehension level of the kid in the movie is. It's THEATER and these people are acting. Do you really think that kid couldn't differentiate between reality and the movie he's making?
