I think it's great that they awarded the Oscars to the best performances. As creative as Russel Crowe was, Denzel's performance was even more outstanding.
It wasn't about rewarding blacks, it was about rewarding the best performances -- something they don't always do. For Example, with Randy Newman -- I felt is song was clearly the weakest of the bunch. He had been nominated 16 times and I'm glad he finally won. Nevertheless, this looked like a case of the politically correct guy winning. I would have voted for Sting and I'm not even a fan.
