With Peter Cook, the duo pushed the envelope of acceptable humor in the "Beyond the Fringe" review in swinging 60's London.
The film "Bedazzled" being their brilliant and insanely witty magnum opus.
He was considered in Japan a more than credible musician (Dudley Moore trio), and toured Japan with very warm reviews a number of times. Recently I found an LP of his entitled "A Bit Of a Dud",it was over $US200, so it stayed in the store!
I'm sure he'll be sadly missed.
