I saw Luc Besson's 'Anna', then crashed toy story 4

There are repeating stories in this movie of a singular woman set among spies.

Our hero here is an undefeated chess player in the movie, two scenes show this theme of her unmatched intelligence, plus she sells matruska dolls, the russian nesting motherhood dolls, where one doll opens up to reveal another identical ,yet smaller doll that opens to reveal another doll and on and on. The scenes go back to tell the story within the story that was just presented. There are scenes that show a deeper story than what was first presented, but everything moves right along. It is a good looking movie.

I was reminded of a female 007, but here the sexual conquests at every turn are possible spy work, not to tip any plot points. Our hero only explains, at one point, I needed that.

Unlike 007 the fight scenes are not thoughtfully crafted, but there is a high body count by the time things calm down. More smash and move repeated character development than a plot point. It is like this movie found tons of the unknown crew members who used to tag along for a transporter ride on star trek, and put them to work in this movie.

They, the fight scenes, seem almost disposable, like putting gas in a car to get to where you want to go.

EXcept the violence turns into a clown car vehicle at times, with the unsophisticated usual jackie chann style fights. A fight to the death with a gang of professional guards, with blood splatters as the worst result for our hero. Perhaps I am discounting her super tough life or death spy school training, when I look at the impossible, only in the movies, violence.

The story and the lead character are very interesting, but covered in a mess of commercial mass market gloss.

A good tale of a spy, and a home run only if you have a thing for women dispensing violence . Unlike bond, she never gets captured, she kills them all before they ever lay a glove on her. the violence is almost as if it were shot to make an action trailer or to make it a safe financial bet, stupid stuff inside of a clever setting.

A better than average product of a movie, but still just product, with exciting, pretty people in pretty locations.
