'Westerplatte Resists': WW2's first battle . . .

The tiny peninsula of Westerplatte (in Poland) became the first strike of the war when a German battleship opened fire there. With less than 200 men the Westerplatte command was told to hold out for just 12 hours. The reinforcements never came and 12 hours became seven days.

Filmed in glorious B&W (which helped the believability), this 1967 film showed the bravery and determination to carry-on even though they surrendered when HQ ordered them.

An interesting slice of history told with subtitles. NF streamer.
