Years ago they were the best one-stop-shopping for just about everything, delivered to your door. Now there are gazillions of other online businesses that provide equivalent services.
But my main complaint about Amazon is their film options. Content of any quality hides amongst a vast and impenetrable selection of junk films. Good luck sorting through their dreck. Instead, go directly to review sites like the NYT, vulture.com, or pastemagazine.com, which summarize the best of Amazon Prime for any given month. But after 5 years as a Prime Video customer, it's trouble finding anything worth watching, as I've already seen the best of what they have to offer.
Then just yesterday I got an email from Amazon. Telling me they will insert commercials into my film time, and charge me another 3 dollars per month if I want to be commercial free. For me, that is the last straw! Has broken my will to continue with their services.
Plenty other reasons to quit Amazon too. Scammers on their website. Bogus reviews. Poor customer service. Treating their employees like slave labor. Yada, yada, yada. Way past time I move on.
