This film (Netflix) is the story of a Danish explorer who was sent to determine if the USA's claim that Greenland was actually two different land masses. He set off in 1909 with one inexperienced volunteer and was beset by woe after woe. This is a Danish film so Nikolaj Coster-Waldau played the lead. Well-acted, adventure, and excitement via polar bears. You get an idea of what artic hardship is really like.

The True Story: Based on Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen's memoir about his 1909-12 expedition to Greenland. Mikkelsen and young crew member Iver Iversen spent two years stranded in the Arctic after their mission to disprove the United States' claim to northeastern Greenland through the mythical "Peary Channel."

I saw this a few years ago and now it's suddenly a point of interest.
