the Oscars don't matter to me, besides that they hold better movies on the screen longer.

I never saw the thing.

Just like I never saw the reportedly excellent movie about a high fashion dressmaker with one of the top movie actors in the world playing the lead.

I just have no interests in what a pope does, or thinks in reality, so have even less interests in going to a movie about a fictional discussion between people that secure no elevated status in my world.

I think the omission of the appeal to non catholics in any discussion of the success of this movie is to overlook a major consideration.

Somewhat akin to the terrible low quality movies pitched to the born again, or the flick made by the scientologists that hey couldn't believe turned out as a box office flop, since the story was written by Elron himself.
