Thoughts on "Time to Kill" with Cage?

Another gem. Gem? Yes, gem. Not the largest or the brightest, but something you don't get to see every day. At the very least, something that you will keep thinking about for more than five seconds.

I am not ashamed to say I loved it. I see its weak points. I can see the less than perfect development and holes here and there. And yet... I love it. Something about the atmosphere they had created. Few simple characters... Giannini simply having good time. It is not work for him - he is one of the great actors who can simply walk into any movie and start improvising. He is so natural, the word "acting" seems completely out of place. Same as with other giants - Mastroianni, Von Sydov, Tracy...

Cage shows his limitations. It seems, however, that the movie as a whole raises him and carries higher than he would be capable of reaching on his own.
