If there's ANY down-side to find in this movie is it's unmistakeable reminiscence to Braveheart. No surprise there.
At one point, I thought for sure that Hollywood was going to make yet another major rewrite via compression of history by showing that notorious battle (forgot name) where the British general shot his own men with grape-shot (a cannon version of shotgun shells) in order to win. It decimated their regulars, but they would've lost that battle otherwise.
Not many surprises, save that it was quite entertaining & dramatic reguardless. A remarkably good fictionalised historical movie by Hollywood standards. I may buy a copy when released.
