"Thieves" - housefull of confused bandits and cops

Not a bad movie, simply not as good as I was hoping for. Catherine Deneuve and Daniel Auteuil doing their best, even if that "best" is not completely enough to float this large boat - at least they rock it. At least they are trying, and it shows, so if you like good acting then not all is lost. So she is lesbian professor and kills herself for no apparent reason, but he - a cop - shows plenty of mental health and has all the chances of recovering from his sexual problems, even if he doesn't succeed in getting her in bed before that suicidal jump (and all he really wanted was one small orgy - Cat, himself, and their young lover), and it is certain that he WILL catch the new crook king in town. And the fact that this new hot young guy naturally takes place of the fallen boss, including his mansion, bed and wife, and child, perhaps, makes perfect sense. He may even become the child's favorite adult.
Overall, some good moments and great actors make this movie a good use of your $1 or two.
