Stiff Upper Lips--A parody of the Merchant/Ivory films that should have been funnier than it was. A few laughs, but I recommend passing this one by.

Hoodlum--Good, not great. An interesting look at 1930's gangsters battling for control of Harlem. Engaging performances from Laurence Fishburne, Tim Roth, and the rest of the cast. Check it out if you like the genre.

The Parent Trap-- Talking about the remake with Dennis Quaid, Natasha Richardson, and Lindsay Lohan. A guilty pleasure...I admit it. Sappy and manipulative but a lot of fun.

East/West(Est-ouest)--Best of the four I've mentioned. Chilling, heartbreaking foreign film about a Russian-French family that returns to Stalin's wonderland after WWII. Superb performances from the lead actors, especially Sandrine Bonnaire. A "must see", IMHO. Give this one a chance even if you don't care for subtitled films
