I wanted so badly to like this movie, but the end ruined it for me. Everything up to that point was beautiful.
What's with the wistful and obtuse narrator? He ends the film saying that he and his friends were never able to understand why the girls nextdoor would kill themselves, but the film makes it abundantly clear that the parents, the mother in particular, are in large part to blame.
Am I missing something?
