Well, all I can say is that it was an inhumane thing to do, even though it saved a lot of American lives.
Japanese commited terrible atrocities in the war, but I don't know if that justified the A-bombs the way they were used...
Perhaps if the US dropped 5 of these in the remote areas it would make Japanese command surrender...
400,000 Americans died in WWII.
Almost 35,000 died in Korean conflict.
Almost 60,000 died in Vietnam.
Why weren't the A-bombs used on people after 1945 if it was such a sure way of ending all kinds of wars and sparing the lives of American soldiers and grief to their mothers?
Would the US have used the A-boms again, if the US was the only country in the world to possess them? Consequently, if I remember correctly, presidential candidate McGovern wanted to use A-bombs(or H-bombs) in Vietnam. Luckily he was landslided by Nixon...
