I loved three comedies that Jack Lemmon was in: Irma la Douce, Good Neighbour Sam and Avanti. My favourite of the three is Irma la Douce. When I was a kid, I fell in love with Shirley Maclean after seeing this movie. Avanti was very light-weight, but a lot of fun; evocative of many other light European comedies. After all this time, I can still remember the beginning of Good Neighbour Sam, with the catchy music and the crazy machine. I really can't think of a role in which I wasn't utterly convinced by Jack Lemmon's portrayal.
