I just saw Amelie last weekend and I have to say that was one fantastic movie. I absolutely loved it and I usually hate subtitled movies. I really liked how non-hollywood the film was and it was truely funny without being crude. Definitely a great date flick!
I place this in my list of top three favorite movies in the last two years along with High Fidelity and Memento. Some will argue against High Fidelity but I love it for my own reasons.
