Very amusing column:
To peruse the movie ads at Christmastime, far more than at any other time, is to be overcome by a feeling of bounty. For the layman, the swirl of critical blurbs rising off the newspaper page must be dizzying. A professional is needed, more bluntly someone induced by monetary compensation, to provide a steadying hand. A file clerk, for example, or a statistician, would do quite nicely. But as a public service, and as a counterweight to my own subjective selectivity last week, and finally because Girl with a Pearl Earring just got postponed from this week until next, I am volunteering to do it myself.
