Film or Sunday school?
A cast populated by unknowns and narrated by Plummer, a rapidly moving pace, and the promise of fidelity to the gospel make this film a compelling must for the Christian audience. The very nature of the film removes it from "art" as it moves through John's account of Jesus' life--from his first miracle through his third and final appearance to the disciples before his ascension. This film will has an affirming effect despite its lack of high artistic standard. It can aslo serve as an informative look at what Christians follow no matter what religion a person serves.
One of the bottom line messages of Jesus and the film is a great one: "Love one another".
