That later version of The Killers was originally made for tv, but instead got a theatrical release (to violent for tv)...and it shows. Ronald Reagan's last film.

I agree on the classic film noir status of the '46 version of Killers...my favorite part is the begining, with tough guys Charles McGraw and Wm. Conrad at the diner, and all that "bright boy" dialogue...great stuff.
