Although I am a late comer to this film it quickly became a favorite and each time I watch it I am struck by what a perfect film it is. Perfect in terms of story, casting, acting, pacing, direction, and music. It is gem and something I will return to once a year. Geroge Sanders was born to play a the sort of smarmy cad he is here. And Bernard Herrman's music is among his best.
