Surprised no one has commented on this, or maybe they have and I missed it? Anyway, I went to see film over the weekend and thought it was very good. Probably the best (Hollywood) movie I have seen all year at the theater. Jamie Foxx is quite convincing as Ray Charles, and I would not be surprised if he is nominated for an Oscar. Foxx does a tremendous job of mimicing (sp) Charles' unique body language as he plays the piano. The movie evolves at a good pace, although at approx 2.5 hours I think it could have benefitted from a little more editing. And if you are a fan of Ray Charles, the soundtrack will not disappoint.
The only tough part (for me) was trying to accept Booger (from Revenge of the Nerds) as Ahmet Ertegun from Atlantic Records.
