House of Flying Daggers

When I first heard about this movie, I was initially turned off by the title. But, as time went by, there was a growing buzz amoung the Asian movie circles that this was comperable to Hero and Croutching Tiger. Curiosity got the better of me, and I ordered the R3 disc.
This is a nice movie. Its not quite in the Hero league, but its very good nonetheless. The costumes, scenery and cinimatography is fantastic. The game of "echoes" in the beginning is mind blowing. The Plot is good as is the acting.
Basically a Captian in the Imperial Army follows a blinf Courtisan hoping she will lead him to a band of rebels called the House Of Flying Daggers. Along the way, there are assaults, and aince they are amoun the wilderness and woods, their hormones kick in, as wellas a few suprises along the way. The scenery is georgous, and the fight is handled very well. All in all, a very enjoyable movie.
The print used for this disc was a little washed out, but that doesn't really take away from the movie. There is word it will be distributed in the US in a few months. That would be a good thing.
