"The Messinger"

Posted by rico (A) on November 11, 2004 at 13:21:28

Much like the Soviets used Alexander Nevsky as a Russin hero and model the French in the nineteenth century polished off Joan of Arc and added many legendary and mythical elements to her story and accomplishments because they were in search of national unity.. There have been a number of Joan films, two great and a couple terrible. This 1999 effort stars Milla Jojovich and also features supporting players John Malkovitch, Faye Dunaway, and Dustin Hoffman. It's an expensive production with many battles and aggressive camera movement but over the long haul it is tiring and confused. Luc Bresson directed his then wife Jojovich.
