Atmospheric, moody, and very, very DARK. If you have night vision problems you'd better wait for the Braille version. Otherwise, take a dose of caffeine and your ADD meds and settle in for a very slow, deliberate look at reincarnation.
The cast was loaded: Kidman, Bacall, Heche, Stormare, Arliss Howard, and other worthwhiles and all gave execellent perfromances. It seems no matter what they do to Nicole's hair or wardrobe she always looks stunning--this is no exception thus making this a must buy for her fans as her face shots fill the nearly the entire frame at times.
The opening scene was so simple yet dramatic thanks to a lush score. The score was ofter elevated to performer status but mostly hung a foot or two forward of the background doing an excellent job of conveying eerie. Everything about the movie is simple: dialogue, camera work, story line. For me it all worked into an intrguing tale with a twist or two.
If you're into Nicole and dark atmosphere you'll want to take you monocle and a split of Dom.
