I disagree strongly that the sequel was not as good as the original. Actually, I think "Curse of the Cat People" to be far superior to the original.

What threw most people was that "Curse..." had little to do with the original. Instead we have a small, sensitive mood piece about a lonely little girl. Is it her father's perception of his new marriage or is it a supernatural event? This is the genius of the Lewton/Tourneau films. Horror is psychological in basis.

Give "Curse..." another look. I think you'll see that it goes beyond horror into the realm of the artfilm.
