Two good... albeit VERY different... recommendations

Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

The first one is called Seaside (Bord de mer). A slow and insightful French film that is really just a study of humans, their problems and the way they deal with them.
Slow and deliberate, it is not for everyone, but if such films do not turn you away, give it a chance. It is good, and you will likely get absorbed into it and its characters. We certainly were. Some wonderful performances and observations, great cinematography and as result a film that will linger in your mind for some time.
As one viewer from Seattle put it: "a boring movie about boring people in a boring town"
That should be strong enough recommendation in itself. :-)
The second - the Russian film Tycoon... for something completely different, for relentless push ans shove, chicanery and pride, loyalty and all other deadly sins all in one package that is bound to keep you riveted. Yes, you probably have seen it all before, but the overal package is fantastic, and some actors are simply quite good.
There is just enough brutal action mixed with intrigue and small amount of sex to make the result about right.
