A few months ago you posted a question about Iraq war documenataries and I responded that a friend of mine was producing one that I thought was along the lines of what you were looking for. Here's the followup information on that, copied from a message sent to me by the show's producer (enjoy the show!):I invite you to watch as Discovery Wings re-launches as The Military Channel on January 10 – kicking off its new network with the premiere of “DELTA COMPANY: The Push To Baghdadâ€, a two-hour high-definition TV documentary, written and co-produced by Tim Baney, about the Marine Corps’ First Tank Battalion’s venture into Iraq in March, 2003.
With Marine Corps cameramen shooting brilliant high-definition footage, DELTA COMPANY is the Iraq War as you’ve never seen it – on the very tip of the spear moving into Saddam’s Iraq. We see surrendering Iraqis, firefights with militants, suicide charges, prisoner interrogations, chemical weapons scares. All the while, the men of Delta Company cope with dust, stress, and fatigue. Individual acts of heroism – including a dash into a live minefield under enemy fire – are highlighted as Delta Company pushes into Baghdad. In the second hour, Delta is welcomed by locals, pitches in as statues of Saddam are pulled down – and quickly has to adjust to being a police force putting down looting and bank robberies.
You’ll travel with the Marines of Delta Company as they make history in Iraq.
