This Cannes "sweetheart" put quite a different light on my Isabelle who played a very domineering muscial instructor by day and a totally sexually repressed and twisted sister by night. Prone to visiting porn shops, spending binges, and a little self-multilation she is happened upon by a young pianist/engineer who is smitten by her. His pursuit of her leads to some very provocative sexual encounters and ultimately to her bitter rejection and heartbreak.
It was a big risk for Isabelle to do this role, but it worked: Grand Prize and Best Actor/Actress.
