"Sorcerer"

William Friedken directed this remake of "Wages of Fear" and despite its promotion citing his "The French Connection" and "The Excorcist" it did poorly at the box office (because, I have always thought, of its name). Unlike the original, we are shown how three of the drivers ended up in this God forsaken South American country. The oil company is depicted as the bad guy, with no concern for human life. As all know, the story consists of an attempt to drive two truccks, each carrying three boxes each of unstable nitro glycerin, over a 200 mile stretch of rural road to snuff out an out of control oil well fire. Not as good as the original but not bad, either, and worth a look.
