Hollywood hasn't been able to revive the biker genre in recent years.- Torque is a video game put on the big screen. All flash, no heart, story that involves getting from point A to point Z with little character development to get the viewer involved.
- Biker Boyz tries to offer a more realistic picture of modern-day bikers. To its credit, the story develops an interesting and realistic dilema for the characters. Somehow, though, it isn't particularly compelling as a drama, and I lost interest in the action scenes because they are more subdued than someting like Torque. It's not easy to make a "realistic" race interesting, and you weren't quite on the edge of your seat about what the outcomes of the races would mean.
On the other hand, moving a little away from bikes, I will say that I did enjoy The Fast and the Furious. It was the right blend of beautiful people, crazy stunts and compelling character conflict for a popcorn movie.
2 Fast 2 Furious was a throwaway, all flash and no heart like Torque, except that it does feature the most beautiful Eva Mendes.
(Gulp! Patrick and Victor may never read another one of my posts now that I've admitted to watching these films!)

Today, with all the hard competition in the music business, it's almost impossible to come up with anything totally original. So we haven't. However, this disc was made with the accent on heavy music.
