While awaiting the start of The Aviator at the local Cinemark, today (Sunday) I saw for the first time the trailor to Malick's "The New World."
It seems early to be showing this, since the film is slated for a November release. Nevertheless, this film, for me, is the most eagerly anticipated movie of 2005, an anticipation firmly grounded in Malick's last work, The Thin Red Line.
Besides, this is probably the last time Wes Studi (of Last of Mohicans and Dances w/ Wolves fame) will play a native American in a movie, unless me plays a wise elder in some future movie.
