I think Lantana is not really a strong film if you put it up against the absolute scale of world movies.
But it immediately attracts attention to itself in the current American movie climate. If put in THAT company it immediately begins to shine.
It is innofensive, and tries to be good to people, and that always gets attention of those tired of volume of trash we have to deal with every day.
So - faults of omission, if you will, not comission.
