Re: Review: Star Wars III

I saw it again last night (3rd time.) I still loved it but it left me feeling really bummed. Not for anything it does wrong but more for the wrong choices Anakin Skywalker makes. It's so far from the happy go lucky originals and just knocks me out emotionally. I really don't want him to go to the dark side.

I don't understand why people are expecting it to feel exactly like the original trilogy when this time Lucas is trying to tell a completely different story in a completely different time. It's like trying to compare 2005 to the 1950's. The world was a different place then. People acted differently. And I've been in the military where stiff behavior can be a way of life.

Perhaps I'm just like Kevin Smith... genetically predisposed to love these movies. I saw the very first one when I was 5 and it took over my life until I was 13. I let it go up until Episode 1 came out and became a huge fan all over again. Even Jar Jar didn't bother me. Why does his voice annoy so many? I hate to say it but it smacks of racism.

There wasn't a single scene in ROTS that annoyed me. If anything I wanted to see more! I look forward to whatever deleted scenes might be on the DVD.
