The problem the Alliance faces is that the evidence still exists (a planet with 3 million dead bodies), and the curious can corroborate and verify the story by going there themselves. So what should the Alliance do? Blockade visits to the planet? Release a deadly biological agent on its surface? Nuke the whole thing? Any of these actions would tend to verify the content of the video by screaming "cover-up." The Alliance should have nuked the planet in the first place.
