Just watch the beginning and the end, that's what I do and that's the advantage of dvd's. Watch up to where he arrives in the distant future and start up again where he talks to the creepy guy who's got his woman in a cage and explains the paradox to him. Pull out the boring piece of fat from the middle and you have a good film. The remake covers a different theoretical angle in regards to time travel which was pretty cool(Orlando on the glass screen was great) but i agree, the first one is a classic.
