They really tried, but...

The directing is dull with no sense of style or flow. Anniston seems unsure of her character and unsure of herself.

I'm usually pretty clueless when it comes to spotting plot twists, but the Jennifer character's true intentions are given away early during the first train scene with the shot of legs and high heels. And why else would she buy tickets for a total stranger?

Why does a stud like Clive Owen keep letting this dweeb French guy beat the snot out of him?

If you want to see this type thing done better, check out "Body Heat," a film with intensity AND a brain. William Hurt and Kathleen Turner effortlessly convince.
