Similar, not the same

I saw Zardoz a *long* time ago, and mostly remember the plot, and, though it may have the same themes, Aeon Flux will probably be quite a bit different.

The TV show, at least, is very different. It's more a political/societal split than an evolutionary one. I hope they can capture the intense bizzareness of the TV show, but I doubt they will. Some of my favorite bits from the animated TV series:

The city is divided into two sections, sort of like old Berlin, but it's all done so electronically. If you try to pass into the 'other' city, the first bit of you to enter the city is severed instantly via laser. It doesn't kill you, assuming your head isn't first, so you'll wake up with your leg laying on the other side of the divide.

In one epsiode Aeon lives in an apartment balanced percariously on a huge pile of junk, with a thin wire leading to a half demolished bridge to keep the whole thing balanced. The wire isn't actually attached to the apartment box, it runs through a window where it's hooked to a spool, then *taped* down to the floor. Every once in a while Aeon has to retape the spool down, less the wire comes undone and her apartment falls into a sea of jagged bridge rubble.

Complete madness, and good fun to watch :)
