Just finished my homework: Under the Sand and 5X2

Under the Sand was painful to watch for two reasons: 1) I hate to see serious crazy on the screen and poor Rampling was just that, 2) I hate to see how old Rampling has gotten. It seems like just 30 years ago she was such a hottie! What is it about English actresses? Too much whisky and too many cigarettes? (Although her breasts still looked inviting.) Hell, ever Mirren was a hottie, once. As for the film, Rampling's pathological crazy was well done and painful to witness.
5X2 takes a good, backwards look at a failed marriage entered into by two individuals who didn't quite understand the meaning of commitment. Let's hope they aren't the archetypal French couple. On the whole I enjoyed this more than Sand. 5X2 was an interesting, well told story tracing the miscues a philandering prone husband and a wife who's past is less than perfect. Well acted, amusing, and saved by the reversed timeline.
