His books are Christian moral tales -- thus typically black and white, good or evil, heaven or hell. There is not a lot of grey area in Religion because that requires thinking -- and thinking outside of simplistic black and whites make it very hard for religion hierarchy to control the sheep. Some exceptions are abound but it's usually the style and the twists not so much the morality.But hey Lord of the Rings big story was power corrupts absolutely -- and it they beat you over the head with it for three films. So in retrospect it could have been worse.
