Jarmush dropped the ball on this. He should have filmed it in B&W but left the "pink" elements pink so they hit you over the head even harder! Murray was boring and under-utilized, I think almost any half decent actor could have played that part. A poor re-hash of his role in "Lost in Translation" is what it most reminded me of. There certainly wasn't the proper character developement to justify why he was so zombie-like or how he came to be that way. No real clue as to who he was pre-zombie. Maybe he was always a zombie? Would have taken about 2 minutes to work that out. Jeffrey Wright was great, as were the supporting actresses. I always enjoy the slow, meandering Jarmush pace and his portrayal of anynomous U.S. towns...

Not enough quirk nor as well-written as the best Jarmush (Down By Law,Ghostdog), not as painfully dull as "Cigarettes...".

Mediocre and disappointing IMO.
