This is basically a female remake of "Charlie", for which Cliff Robertson won a Best Actor Oscar (undeserved in my opinion). The beautiful Elizabeth Shue plays a retarded young woman being cared for by her brother. She undergoes experimental brain surgery and over time becomes genius level intelligent. Then she starts to lose this intelligence and ends up the same at the end. Very predictable and nothing special (except to look at Shue in various stages of undress).
