"Yellow Asphalt:" from Israel comes

director Danny Verete's three tales of Bedouin life in the Judean Desert and the sometimes troubling interractions between the Bedouins, foreigners, and Jews.
These are three seemingly simple--- not simplistic--- stories that convey timeless truths. If you wish to understand the ME, this film should be high on your list.
No easy answers, no proselytizing.
In the middle, and possibly weakest story, a foreign woman married to a tribesman wishes to divorce him and take their two children far away with her. The meeting of the village elders, the issues they consider in reaching their decision, somehow makes more sense than our Western divorce court system.
