"Oklahoma!" was filmed in both the Todd AO 70 MM process and in Cinemascope and the scenes are ever so slightly different in each. The wide screen is used very effectively throughout and of course the music is timeless. The Broadway production is the first in which every song is related directly to the plot or story line. For the film a couple of songs were eliminated and a couple of others were altered for censorship reasons. Though brimming with talent the film is outdone by a video version in 1999 done for a British rvival where the players all can act, sing and dance to a fare thee well.
