Three recommendations

I've been blessed with time in the last week to be able to watch a few movies, and I can highly recommend three of them:

-"Cure" by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Wow. Talk about a suspenseful movie. To be compared with American films such as "Seven" and "Fallen". Mysterious murders plague Tokyo, the victims found with an X slashed across their throat. None of the murderers have any clear recollection of the events. One thing ties them all together... but I won't give it away. Watch it!

-"Kung Fu Hustle". Okay, so I have to admit that I was extremely skeptical when I read the front of the DVD, and there was a quote from Entertainment Weekly which read, "Think Kill Bill meets the Looney Toons". Wasn't sure what to think about that, but it actually is a good description! The key word for this movie is FUN! Don't take it too seriously, and you will have a very good time!

-"La Grande Illusion". Story is set in 1914, and revolves around a group of French POWs in Germany. Very enjoyable. Shows that war, although a horrid thing, can be fought with some level of civility and recognition of humanity. Must see.

Cheers,
Chris
