And that, I think, was how it was spelled on the titles although I always thought it was Betty. Nevermind.
This utterly charming bio-pic about the famous pin-up model and almost innocent baondage queen is a delight and actually received an ovation on Friday night, although I must admit festival audiences here have taken to clapping almost any film.
Gretchen Moll has just the right mix of unknowing straightforwardness needed to play such an iconic figure.
The only slight criticism is that at the end, after finding Jesus, she still states "Adam and Eve only wore clothes after they had sinned" or something similar whereas everything I have ever read about suggests Ms Page has completely disowned her past.
Antway its a great film to go and see and will produce quite a lot of laughs.
