It you want unpleasent, try Gangster No. 1 with McDowell and Bettany. Bettany out psychos any of McDowell's earlier roles. For a few laughs try: Love, Honor, Obey with Winstone, Miller, and Law.
I find Brit Crime really gritty and interesting. We can't touch them on that.
