"Trial by Jury"

Joanne Whalley-Kilmer pplays Valerie, a young single mom who owns a vintage dress shop. She is on a jury in a trial involving a mob boss under indictment for murder. She is visted by William Hurt, a former cop gone bad who now works for the mob boss. Hurt tells valerie that if she doesn't vote for aquittal she and her young son will be killed. After several threats, one by the mob boss himself, she holds out in the deliberations and convinces three other jury members to also vote for aquittal, resulting in a hung jury. She then seeks revenge. The ending seemed a bit far fetched and out of character for me but all in all this is an enjoyable film. Gabriel Byrne plays the prosecutor.
