This is Shakespeare moved to the Melbourne underworld, with a rock-styled and dressed lead and a world of luxury cars and iPods.
A world ofmore decadence than any film I can remember this side of The Cook The Thief His Wife And Her Lover or Performance.
A Lady Macbeth in La Perla lingerie, if any, and ouzing sex sex sex.
And all the while Shakespeare's words tumble out.
Its directed by Geoffrey Wright who made Romper Stomper and at the eand there is the flickering slo-mo bloodbath that you have expected at every turn.
Is it great? Probably not but then few films really are.
Is it worth seeing? yes, yes, oh yes.
