I don't care for "monster" movies or scary movies in general, but I have to make an exception in this case. One of the things I liked so much about Alien is the muted, muffled dialog in the background throughout the whole thing, so you have to pay very close attention to what's going on, gets you leaning way forward in your seat and then springs a stupid cat on you or some Hichcock trick like that.

The first, and only, time I saw it was a midnight showing on a date. It really spooked me. I would not go into the girl's darkened apartment first. It takes alot to get me to suspend my disbelief--this one works . Gets my two thumbs up.

I love those "the making of" documentrys. It's like haveing "Cliff Notes" of your favorite films.
