For any Sci-fi fan, this film is a must see. I didn't hear anything about it when it came out. A friend picked it up on DVD and showed me a preview which caused me to search the video store for weeks before I found a copy. Then last night, TNT was running it so I had to watch it again.
It's a comedy and parody of the old 50s sci-fi films with a cast that is incredible: Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close, Danny Devito, Tom Jones (as a lounge singer doing his BIG hit), Pierce Brosnan, Martin Short, Rod Steiger, Jim Brown, Michael J Fox and more.
There's no heavy theme, it's just pure entertainment. IMO, it's got all the stuff of a cult classic and should be in any sci-fi fan's collection.
